FLY KICKS OF THE DAY: Air Jordan 12 - Flu Game

Michael Jordan was literally sick in Game 5 of the 1997 finals vs the Utah Jazz. Battling the flu he scored 45 in a Bulls win. These shoes commemorate that game. This shoe made some changes from the original 12 like adding nubuck to the upper, putting his stats on the heel and some weird mr yuk looking face on the tongue. Jordan heads are split on these but I think they're "sick" (I'm so corny) These officially released n Nov 17 for a retail tag of $170. Just in time for Black Friday. PS. ARTIST OF THE WEEK: Wale

If you didn't see this coming you might be slightly retarded. Album sales don't do Wale's debut Attention Deficit justice. (We'll just blame that on distribution) Attention Deficit was one of the best reviewed albums of the year and even received an XL rating from XXL magazine. To put that in perspective I can count on one hand how many albums got an XXL. So there's nowhere to go but up for the DMV native. If you really want to know who wale is it's best you start from the beginning.....

I'll admit I was a little late getting hip to indie Band Wallpaper but I recognize now. If you've never heard of them they're like a mix of T-Pain & Asher Roth, trapped in Snoop Dogg's Sexual Eruptions video. Known for their cheesy yet creative lyrics and on purpose low budget videos which are always hilarious, Wallpaper is just feel good music. Its not too serious and I think they're in on the joke. Their album Doodoo Face dropped back in september, go cop it off iTunes.

TECH FLYNESS: Verizon Droid Phone

Verizon owners can finally rejoice. They finally have a phone that can compete with the iphone and the G1 in the touch phone wars. The Droid Phone is basically a souped up version of the G1 with the newest android upgrades. It excels where the G1 doesn't like adding a headphone jack, a camera with flash and a 16 gb memory stick. Not quite the iPhone killer but it does give em a run for it's money.

FLY ISH OF THE DAY: Good Bully Landover Tee

If youre not from the DMV, specifically PG County then this tee means nothing to you. If you are from PG like me then this shirt is DOPE. This shirt by Good Bully(and modeled by Wale)reps for the city of Landover and incorporates the old Landover Mall logo into it. Real DMV heads from Landover or not should cop this shirt to show their DMV pride. They recently re-upped this tee to meet demand so cop it before its too late.

RANDOM FLYNESS OF THE DAY: Ocho Cinco Condoms

I caught this on Twitter earlier today....Chad Ocho Cinco is a fool for this one. Apparently they have bengal stripes that measure your um, yards. Chad is the funniest guy on Twitter to me(Affion Crockett would disagree)because he keeps finding new ways to keep his fans interested and of course when the Bengals are winning thats always a plus. I wonder if these are actually gonna come out, wonder how many stripes I would get.

Album Of The Week: Wale - Attention Deficit

I been waiting for this album since I heard Dig Dug back in 06. For a while I thought the album was never gonna come but it was well worth the wait. Wale took a more serious approach for this album instead of the more uptempo stuff of his mixtapes. Nevertheless this is a GREAT album and very solid but I expect better from Wale in the future. The DMV is definitely behind Wale on this one now its time for the rest of the world to recognize.

Say what u want about Weezy or whoever but Jay-Z basically invented the "swag"(overused word)that every rapper dreams of having on the mic and off. This video is from his 2007 Vh1 storytellers concert for American Gangster. I can honestly say this performance alone made me want to buy this album. RANDOM FLYNESS: Kid Cudi - Mr. Solo Dolo Fan Video

After listening to this song and watching this video, I cant imagine the official video to look any other way. Kid Cudi is a depressed guy, and these are some depressed cartoons. It gets a little creepy but still a dope video. Cudi should take notice

Being from PG County I am really rooting for Wale to put the DMV on the map but then he dropped that heap of steaming doo-doo called "Chillin Ft. Lady Gaga". Come on Wale!! I've heard better things from him on mixtapes (I own all of them by the way). Not to put any pressure on Wale but he has 2 states (3 if DC got Representation) and the Nation's Capital on his back. This cut from his anticipated album Attention Deficit helps relieve some but not all of the constipation I recieved from "Chillin", and of course it never hurts to have modern day Mozart Pharrell on the track with you. THROWBACK JAM OF THE DAY: 2Pac - I Get Around

The throwback joint of the day belongs to one of the greatest to ever do it, 2Pac. There's nothing I can say about 2Pac that hasn't already been said. This video, however takes us back to a happier time, this was always my favorite 2Pac video just because of how much fun It looked like everyone was having. This was like an early version of Jay-Z's "Give It To Me" video. The rap version of the American Dream, 2Pac and The Digital Underground threw a party like none other, I don't think I've seen this many video girls at a cookout since.

LMAO Was the first thing I said when I first saw this video. Affion Crockett is pretty interesting, some of his stuff is pure corny garbage but then every once in a while he drops comedy gold such as this genius spoof of run this town which found a way to make fun Jay-Z, Kanye, Chris Brown AND Rihanna all on the same song. This video is on the complete opposite side of the spectrum from Dance Flick (SMH Affion). He especially had Kanye's swag down pat. You didn't even have to see the original video to appreciate the humor in this one. I'm sure even Rihanna stans could appreciate it, if not oh well.

So that makes it like a Frankenstein shoe of sorts but overall it looks good so all those Jordan heads can rejoice (especially in Chicago) because now when winter rolls around you can still have a pair of J's to stomp around in.

Even though the How Fly Mixtape isn't new I felt the need to show my love for Wiz Khalifa & Curren$y as my co-artists of the week. Before I got on Gucci mode I bumped this mixtape nearly every day. How Fly gave birth to my blog's name and the picture on the header. Somewhere between the Gucci Manes, Drakes and Kid Cudis of the world Wiz and curren$y found their niche as the leaders of the stoner culture. I was fans of both before so a collaboration was like my dream come true. They both feed off of each other's laid back yet cocky swaggers over smooth instrumentals. Just when I thought It wasn't possible to like Skateboard P any more than I already did this video surfaced. Now you know you're a musical genius when you can make up a song on the spot about how you want to eat Mickey D's. He really must be able to see sounds, probably from eating all that McDonald's red meat. He's damn near 40 and looks younger than me tho. Maybe he knows something we don't.

ALBUM OF THE WEEK: Gucci Mane & Dj Drama - The Burrprint (The Movie 3D)

Honestly, "Burrprint" is one of the dumbest words Ive ever heard and is an obvious ripoff of Jay-Z's Blueprint (most likely inspired by the recent release of the Blueprint 3) but despite all of that I cant stop listening to this mixtape. Its something about the pulse pounding bass and aggressive beats mixed with Gucci's semi retarded flow and memorable hooks that equals great.....oh yeah and u cant forget those priceless ad-libs......
